Calcium chuloride

Calcium chloride

Calcium chloride is an inorganic compound, a salt composed of chlorine and calcium, and a typical ionic halide. Appearance: white, hard fragments or particles. Slightly bitter, odorless. Calcium chloride has prominent adsorption capacity for ammonia and low desorption temperature, and has a great application prospect in the adsorptive separation of synthesis ammonia. Chemical formula: CaCl2. It is a typical ionic halide and presents a white solid state at room temperature. It is commonly used as brine for refrigeration equipment, as well as ice melting agent and desiccant for roads. Anhydrous calcium chloride must be stored in sealed containers because it is vulnerable to deliquesce when exposed in air. Calcium chloride and its hydrates and solutions have important application values in many areas such as food manufacturing, building materials, medicine and biology.

English name: Calcium chloride

Molecular formula:CaCl2

CAS No.:10043-52-4

Appearance: Anhydrous calcium chloride and calcium chloride dihydrate is white, off-white or slightly yellowish block, flaked or granular solids. Solid calcium chloride is white, off-white or slightly yellowish, red powder, flake, granule or block.

Main Application:

1. It is used as a multi-purpose desiccant for drying nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide and other gases. It is used as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and acrylics. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigerators and ice making. It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and enhance the freeze resistance capability of building mortars, so it is an excellent antifreezing agent in construction industry. It is used as an anti-fogging agent for ports and a dust collection agent for roads, as well as a fireproofing agent for fabrics. It can also used as a protective agent and refining agent for aluminum-magnesium metallurgy. It is also used as a precipitant for the production of lake pigments. It is also used for waste paper processing and deinking, and a raw material for the production of calcium salts.

2. It is used as a chelating agent, curing agent, calcium fortifier, refrigerant, desiccant, anti-caking agent, microbial inhibitor, pickling agent, texture modifier.

3. It is used as a desiccant, road dust collection agent, anti-fogging agent, fabric fire retardant, food preservative, and for the preparation of calcium salts.

4. It is used as a lubricant additive.

5. It is used as an analytical reagent.

6. It is mainly used for the treatment of tetany, urticaria, exudative edema, intestinal and ureter colic, and magnesium poisoning caused by hypocalcemia.

7. It is used as a calcium fortifier, curing agent, chelating agent, and desiccant in the food industry.

8. It can be used to enhance the bacterial cell wall permeability.
