Appearance: small white crystalline particles
Physical and chemical properties:The product is white single monoclinic crystal powder with sulfur dioxide odor. Its relative density is 1.49, and is easily soluble in water, as well as to decompose when heating, slightly soluble in ethanol with acidic aqueous solution. It is strong in reducibility, and easily oxidized or lost sulfur dioxide in the air.
Main applications: It is used for bleaching cotton fabric, as well as the reductant in the lines of dyes, papermaking, leather and chemical synthesis. It is also applied in the production of pharmaceutical intermediates and photographic reagent, and the treatment of chromium-containing wastewater, the additives to electroplating, the bleaching of food, preservatives, antioxidants and so on.
